01 Conformance intent
OrderFlow Metrics Editorial Desk intends this documentation site to be usable by as many readers as possible, including readers who navigate with a keyboard, a screen reader, a magnifier or a refreshable display. The design target is level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2.
Conformance is pursued through plain, well-structured markup rather than through layered fixes. Every page is written by hand, reviewed before publication, and re-checked when a section is rewritten. Where a requirement cannot yet be met, the gap is named on this page instead of being left unstated.
02 Markup guarantees
The pages are built on a small set of deliberate choices that support assistive technology. The following four hold across the site.
- Semantic headings. Each page uses one first-level heading and a descending order of section headings, with no level skipped.
- No script dependency. Pages contain no scripts, so nothing needs to run in order to read them, and no control depends on pointer gestures.
- Visible focus styles. Links, buttons and summary elements show a clear outline when reached by keyboard.
- Labelled structures. Tables carry captions and header rows, lists use list elements, and diagrams carry a text alternative.
Keyboard Every page can be read from top to bottom with the tab key and the arrow keys alone. The index panels open with the enter or space key and close the same way.
03 Text scaling and contrast
Text is sized so that it can be enlarged in the browser without loss of content. Reflow is retained at narrow widths, and no line of text is clipped when the reader magnifies the view.
| Element | Target | Approach |
|---|---|---|
| Body text | 7:1 | Dark ink on a near-white field |
| Secondary text | 4.5:1 | Muted tone, still above the floor |
| Links | 4.5:1 | Colour plus underline on hover |
| Focus outline | 3:1 | Solid border, never colour alone |
| Scaling | 200 percent | No horizontal scroll introduced |
Colour is never the only way a meaning is carried. Status and emphasis are also expressed through wording, order or a border, so a reader who cannot distinguish two tones loses nothing.
04 Known limitations
Two gaps are acknowledged. First, the hand-drawn inline diagrams are decorative summaries of the prose that surrounds them; each carries a short text alternative, but the alternative describes the purpose rather than every box and line. A reader who needs the fine detail is directed to the adjacent paragraphs, which restate the same idea in words.
Second, the monospaced address blocks preserve line breaks for visual clarity. Screen readers announce them in reading order, which is correct but occasionally slower than the surrounding prose. The same details are repeated as ordinary sentences on the contact page to give a second route.
05 Feedback route
A barrier met while reading is treated as a fault in the page, not in the reader. Reports are welcome and are answered.

Response A report is acknowledged within five working days. Where a fix is quick, it is made at once; where it is structural, the reporter is told which revision will carry it.
