01 Why this notice exists
Several privacy frameworks give a consumer the right to direct a business not to sell personal information and not to share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. This page states the position of OrderFlow Metrics Editorial Desk on that request, so that no reader has to hunt for it.
The short answer is that the question does not arise, because the desk has nothing of that kind to sell or to share. The longer answer is set out below, category by category, so the claim can be checked against the site's actual behaviour.
02 What the desk sells and shares
Nothing. The desk does not sell personal information, does not share it for advertising, does not rent it, and does not exchange it for value of any kind. There is no advertising network on the site, no measurement service, and no arrangement to pass data to a buyer, so there is no stream of information that could be traded even in principle.
Standing instruction A reader who sends a do-not-sell or do-not-share request is already covered by this page. The instruction is honoured from the moment it is read, and it is recorded only so that the desk can confirm it back.
03 Categories that could exist, and what the site collects
Privacy frameworks often list categories of information a business might hold. The table below takes that list and states the position of this site for each row. Every entry is empty, which is the point of the table.
| Category | Collected by the site | Sold or shared |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers such as a name or address | No | No |
| Commercial history | No | No |
| Network activity across sites | No | No |
| Precise location | No | No |
| Inferences about a reader | No | No |
The only information the desk ever holds is correspondence a reader chooses to send, and that is kept solely to answer the message. It is not sorted into the categories above, because it is not gathered by the site at all.
04 How to submit a request
A request may be made by electronic mail or by post. Both routes reach the same small team, and both are answered.
- Electronic mail
- [email protected]
- Post
- OrderFlow Metrics Editorial Desk, 1840 Wexford Avenue, Suite 12, Portland, OR 97205, United States
A request does not need a particular form of words. A single line asking the desk not to sell or share anything is enough, and a line asking what is held is equally acceptable. Requests from an authorised agent are accepted when the agent shows that the reader has allowed it.
05 Response timing
A request is acknowledged within ten business days and is fully answered within forty-five days of arrival. If more time is genuinely needed, the desk says so within the first window and gives a date by which the answer will come. No charge is made for the first request in a twelve-month period.
06 No verification friction
The desk does not ask a reader to prove identity before honouring a request of this kind. Because no personal information is gathered by the site, there is no record to protect from a false claim, so heavy checking would serve no purpose.
Where a reader asks what is held, the desk searches its correspondence and answers honestly, even when the answer is that nothing is held. A reader who is not satisfied may escalate by writing to the same address with the word escalation in the subject line, and the matter is then reviewed by a second member of the desk.
